SHERWOOD PARK BRONCOS - Head Coach: Marty Gunderson
Marty starting his football coaching career, kind of by surprise. In his oldest boy's first year of football, he was asked to head coach, even though he hadn't coached a day of football in his life. With the help of some superstar coaches and parents, his team learned lots about football, had a tonne of fun, and won tier 3 championship. The next year saw more learning (especially on the coaches part), more fun and another championship. This time, tier 2. The following year, he coached a great team, where both the coaches and the kids learned a great deal about team work, perseverance and dedication. 2010 marks the fourth year of coaching for Marty (all as head coach), and he is looking forward to this year, as much as any. With the amazing team of coaches this year, he is expecting lots of learning, lots of fun and lots of success on the field. His key belief in football is simple. Prepare the kids for success... at their individual position, as a team, and, most importantly, as a person in this world. To be prepared for success, the kids need to enjoy what they are doing, work hard, believe in their team mates, and be focused on their task. The rest will take care of itself. He is blessed to have some many great parents, great assistant coaches, and great coaches he coached against, in his coaching career.
